Job Position: Production Engineer (Operations Support)

Job Description – short and topical
To provide technical support in production operations in the assigned fields in OML-42 by applying sound petroleum engineering knowledge, skills and best industry practices to maximize oil and gas  production. Contributing to wells and facility production activities in the warri operation office and in the field.
Main activities and Responsibilities
Routinely monitor daily well performance, identify changing well conditions and provide recommendations to optimize production
Maintain up-to-date well models and possess the ability to model changing well conditions and be able to provide recommendations for production improvement
Develop and maintain an up to date records of wells pertinent data and performance history in areas of assignment
Lead the well surveillance process to identify and carry out production improvement opportunities on wells, facilities, and operations.
Identify workover/recompletion, stimulation, artificial lift, and compression candidates for production optimization.
Generate AFEs, cost estimates, and procedures for workovers/recompletions.
Design, implement and optimize artificial lift systems for horizontal and vertical wells with various producing depths and fluid types.
Provide production engineering support for new well designs and operation.
Recommend modifications and/or investments to upgrade operations facility systems to reduce operating costs.
Lead periodic wells reviews with reservoir engineers, geologists, and field personnel.
Collaborate with production engineers in Lagos to maintain representative integrated production model of assigned fields, reservoirs and wells
Routinely review shut-in wells to ascertain causes of shut-in and proffer solutions to restoring well back on production
Develop procedures for intervention and slick line activities and ensure contractors adhere to safe procedures and practices and within approved budget
Design and follow through MER testing and other well testing operations
Assist with preparation of annual budget
Monitor and discuss the the performance of installed well production equipment (xmas tree valves, SC-SSSV, chokes, actuators etc.) and plan intervention when required
Conduct HSE and technical pre-qualification/mobilization inspection of contractor equipments
Analyse metering requirement and carry out performance analysis of installed production metering equipment to ensure they meet industry minimum standard and statutory compliance

Job Position: Production Chemist

Job Description – short and topical
We are currently recruiting for a Production Chemist, the successful candidate will provide detailed working knowledge of production chemistry in support of OML 42 production and development activities. The involve all phases of an oil field lifecycle from design to decommissioning including: management of scale, asphaltenes, wax, hydrates, corrosion, fluid separation, produced water treatment, water injection and export specifications. Candidates should have primary experience in an onshore Production Chemist role. To identify wells with increasing scaling, foaming, sanding, and corrosion tendencies through onsite field analysis. To ensure that production chemistry laboratory in the field is operating efficiently and effectively.
Main activities and Responsibilities
To be responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of field laboratories.
Receive and analyse daily samples in the fields; sand measurement, crude and water analysis
Responsible for sending and monitoring samples sent to third party laboratory  for production chemistry related analysis.
Implementation of chemical related programmes e.g Chemical treatment during pigging activity, scale capsule application, injectivity improvement of water injectors
To participate actively in field trials thus ensuring that optimum chemical rates are being used in the fields.
Ensure that standard procedures are being followed in all laboratory tests and measurements both in the field laboratory and third party laboratory.
Carryout onsite field analysis and checks on scaling tendencies, corrosion rates, plugging index, and level of bacteria activity.
Liaise with external laboratory for confirmatory tests on crude assay, gas, water grain distribution analysis. etc .
Provide technical input to help identify and prioritize Production Chemistry related value preservation and value creation opportunities.
Provide technical input to risk reviews, such as, Health/Safety/ Environmental risk.
Retain and store test samples under specified conditions and period
Contribute to preparation of weekly and monthly Lab performance reports
Key Competencies
Extensive knowledge and operational experience in all aspects of production chemistry including scale, asphaltene, wax and hydrate management, corrosion inhibition, fluid separation, produced water treatment, reservoir souring and water injection quality management
Very good knowledge of oilfield chemistry and the applications and uses of generic chemicals.
Ability to demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE)
Awareness level in environmental policies and applicable Nigerian regulations
Knowledge level in all relevant laboratory/safety procedures, codes and practices
Good communicator with a willingness to share knowledge and support others
Education/Certification & Experience required
1    B.Sc Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
2    Three years cognate experience with a minimum of 6-months hands-on experience in an oilfield production chemistry laboratory.
